20 miles east of Liverpool, and 20 miles west of Manchester sits the town of Warrington. It is the largest town in Cheshire county, and home to the 5-piece indie rock outfit, The Bid. Their debut single "Don't Wait" is a distinctively upbeat, and catchy indie rock song with commercial potential.

Taking influence from popular rock bands like The Strokes, and The Beatles it's hard not to be captivated by the pop melodies, and warm heartfelt vocal delivery of frontman Joe Hatton. Throughout the song the lyrics reflect on moments from the past, and a message of perseverance and forward motion, because time stops for no one. Lyrics like "you think that time is on your side, well, time will cut you like a knife," and "we can't change the way we are, we are the way we always were," ring true as any affirmation.

Melodic guitar lines, and beautiful piano and vocal harmonies come in and out of play as the song builds into each chorus, bigger than the last, and an unexpected bridge breakdown that engages the listener and creates an amazing pull into the gigantic final chorus.

Often in the song a line like "you said I don't have empathy, but maybe I'm not that strong," proves The Bid's knack for delivering a beautifully honest lyric right in the midst of a bright, melodious chorus. With irresistible pop charm, harmonies, dancing bass lines, and driving rhythm elements "Don't Wait" is a fantastic debut single from The Bid. Make sure to check out their upcoming tour dates, and give them a follow on their social media for future releases.
